Why Most Dairy Brands Look the Same — And How We Broke the Pattern

When you walk through premium supermarkets in Dubai, the dairy shelves tell a quiet story - bottle after bottle, playing it safe with predictable whites and blues. Polished, yes. Memorable, no.

Our client had the opposite ambition. They wanted to launch a premium dairy brand for a new, conscious generation - a brand that could stand out locally and have the strength to grow into new regions. For that, blending in wasn’t an option.

I booked a flight to Dubai. I wanted to see the market with my own eyes, feel the rhythm of the city, and speak with the client face to face. Over the next few days, I walked supermarket aisles, studied the competition up close, and gathered insights you can’t get from behind a laptop screen. The goal was clear: create a brand that doesn’t just sit on the shelf, but commands attention - and earns trust - from the very first glance.

The project began not with sketches or moodboards, but with a conversation. I flew in to sit across from the client, listen to their ambitions, and feel the cultural pulse that would shape the brand. We talked about their vision, their future markets, and the fine balance between tradition and modernity.

Then our studio turned into a creative laboratory. While cataloging the UAE dairy market, we analyzed each competitor’s packaging, positioning, and design elements, benchmarking them against global standards from pr

emium dairy brands.

Over the next few weeks, six distinct brand concepts came to life - each telling a different story. All concepts maintained a minimalist character, some were more stylized, while others were rich in detail. Our Miro board quickly became a living, breathing ecosystem of sketches, moodboards, and experimental visuals. I illustrated every concept, ensuring the storytelling was rich and authentic. Meanwhile, our in-house 3D team sculpted a photorealistic hero: an eco-friendly milk bottle designed to feel modern, tactile, and premium. Also, we made different versions of logo, which were representing milk in different ways.

Finally, I came to a solution: a custom illustration stretching across four bottles side by side. Suddenly, a single SKU became a billboard in the fridge - impossible to ignore.

The result

The chosen direction balanced a clean, minimalist look with subtle warmth - designed to stand out in the chilled aisle while staying true to the brand’s natural roots. The client praised not only the final result, but the process - the cultural research, the strategic depth, and the way we delivered it.

If you’re looking for a creative partner who understands both the science and the shelf, we’re ready to help.
